Binder "poll"

Just curious to see how long everyone wore their binders after - Panni removal or Tummy Tuck.
I had TT W anchor cut on Nov 28th. My doc said I can stop wearing it whenever I start to feel "comfortable" again. Not sure what that really means.

So... Here I am - seeing where everyone else stands on the topic.
Thanks for any feedback given.

MY PS said the same thing as yours.  He is a big Spanx fan and to wear it as long as I want.  His only hard and fast rules apply to limits on exercise.

what sorts of limits? I got a clearance to begin working out...but he said to "start slow" and that was it...I'm slightly nervous!

I was told a min of 6 weeks, longer if swelling dictates. It will be longer than 6 weeks bc I don't foresee my swelling going down anytime soon. I will transition from my full body mummy suit to something a little less restrictive though.

I wore mine 24/7 until 6 weeks, now I slap it back on when my swelling flares up during the day, but wear it still every night. I'm 8 weeks as of tomorrow post TT

Thank you for the replies. I was figuring 6 weeks as well. I can't imagine not sleeping with it on. I would really like to buy new jeans - just havin a hard time because I have no idea what size I am - or if it is goin to change much anymore.

Again ~ thanks for the replies!

I had LBL on Nov 9th.  I'm still in compression, 24/7.  I wear Spanx during the day, and sleep in my binder.  I go tomorrow for a follow up, so we'll see.

I work from home, so I wore it all day, every day for about 8 weeks.

i changed to spanx if I needed to put on real clothes, but mostly wore sweats with my binder.

i wore it at night for another 8 weeks or so after that, depending on swelling.

Now, at 9 months post tummy tuck, I wear it once or twice a week when I feel swollen at night.

I wore one for several weeks after my panniculectomy, but was not even suggested to wear one after the tummy tuck.

I woke up in the hospital after my hernia surgery with one on.  I was in the hospital for 5 days due to me spiking a high fever of 103.8 for 4 days which due to my immunedeficiency happens every time I have any type of surgery.  He told me that to wear it all the time. When I asked him how long I had to where it, he said it was up to me but I would know how long I needed it.  when I tried to take it off one day because if you remember I sprouted a bad leak - and the fluid got all over the binder, so I took it off, well the pain level tripled, so I immediately put it back on, even though it had all the fluid on it.

I couldnt believe how much the binder lessened the pain - it helped so much.  I actually wore it for atleast 4 weeks.  I made a big mistake not looking into having a tummy tuck at the same time as my hernia surgery.
