Thigh lift, brachio, and breast reduction recovery info needed!

Hi all, I just got insurance approval for a thigh lift, arm lift, and breast reduction, and it's now scheduled for January 10th. I'm a little nervous about getting this all done at once, but my surgeon has assured me that it will be an easier recovery than I had for my rather extensive panni/TT. I am thrilled that I've got this approved and scheduled but naturally I have a few questions.

Would you recommend getting a lift chair? I'm thinking it may help since both my arms and legs will be healing. Did you have one? Did you like it?

What garments do you recommend? I want to make sure I have some good ones, and have two of each -- one to wear, one to wash!

I'm sure I'll think of other questions, but this will be helpful info for me. I just hope the next month goes quickly until my surgery!

Thanks,
Lesley

I had a tt, tl (inner), and bl/ba on 11/6.  I bought a lift chair and I am glad that I did.  I never had to plop down on my sore legs and I could slowly lift to standing.  After the first week I even figured out how to put my pillows under my legs while standing then to reclining.  I picked up Ethel (my old lady chair) on a site similar to Craigslist for $200. She was invaluable the first 3 weeks and is headed to a new home tomorrow.

I found the female urinal to be extremely helpful. I have garmets that go from knee to ribs.  Ace bandages around my thighs and full length compression pants (under armor). They added the ace bandages when I developed seromas in both  thighs.

I can't think of anything else this moment :)

Thank you! This is helpful info. I was thinking of getting the female urinal. I'll also look into the compression pants. I'm hoping my insurance will cover the lift chair, but I haven't called them yet. I need a block of time when I can spend about an hour on hold with that question!

Thanks again.

I had my arms and legs (and everything else) done at the same time - it has been a lot easier than I expected. I didnt need a lift chair and was able to sleep in a regular bed after surgery - I just had tons of pillows and had my arms and legs propped up. I came home after 2 weeks, and I have my normal recliner here and I live in it - I dont "need" it but it' sure is nice. It's pretty easy to get in and out of.

I have full length compression garments on with an opening in the crotch - i was worried about peeing on my garments so I bought a female urinal but never needed it. I didnt have any problems sitting on the toilet as long as I took it slow.

Wow, you are doing so well! My concern about a regular bed is that I'm going to stay with my parents for a week or two after surgery, and I'd have to go upstairs to get into a regular bed, and I'm not sure if I could do that. I stayed with them after my panni/TT, and slept on a chair with an ottoman, which was perfect then but I'm not sure if it'll work now.

Thanks for the reply -- this is very helpful! I also clicked over to your blog, and enjoyed reading what you wrote there. I had a similar starting weight, and I love to read about others who started at around the same weight and have succeeded.
