Pain level of Thighplasty vs. Lower Body Lift

Can anyone comment on the pain level they experienced on a thighplasty vs. a lower body lift?  I had an LBL done in April of this year, and on a scale of 1-10 I would rate that pain as a solid 9.  Comparatively speaking, I would rate weight loss surgery as a 3!  If anyone can share his/her experience with how the thighplasty pain compares and level of mobility/immobility after surgery, I would appreciate it!

I had both, with the LBL being  first, like you.

The pain is MUCH worse with the LBL.

I was also concerned about some of the things I read with the inner thigh lift, but I found the pain to be not that bad.  Now, what is tough is the limited mobility. With the inner thigh lift it is very difficult to get into a sitting or squatting position that doesnt pull on the incisions.  You will be fine if you can recline or prop yourself with pillows, but getting up or down pulls the incisions.  Going to the bathroom is a challenge.  The best thing I did with my inner thigh lift is to order one of those "Freshettes" from amazon.  It is a simple little funnel, but it lets you urinate standing up.

I have one of those things that help you urinate standing up,  LOL.  Anyway, i was interested in the post as my thigh surgery is Monday and I thought the LBL was pretty bad.

I did both at the same time (along with BL/B and arms) and I havent had much pain at all so I think it really depends on each person and pain management. I only took tramadol for a week and a half and didnt nee much more.

I was up walking around and showering and using the bathroom from Day 1 without too much difficulty. I have to move slow and I cant spread my legs too much or it will pull on the incisions but havent had too many mobility limitations.

The worst part of the thighs was the drains that came out at my knees! The day those came out - wheew!!!

I had the Thigh Lift with extensive Lipo and the LBL with the Anchor cut TT together.

The pain for the LBL was zero!    The pain for the Anchor Cut TT was zero.  The pain for the Thighlift was zero.  Seriously!  BUT the pain for the Lipo was about a 7 our of 10.  If I hadn't had the Lipo done, I would have been pain free.

My doctor is excellent at keeping us comfortable post op.

I had an LBL along w/ brachio and the pain was very little. The thighs were the absolute worst pain I've had w/ all of my surgeries. Was still in pain at 10 days when I sent back to work but it was doable at that time, more like dull ache by then. Just had to be careful when sitting and walking. That being said I was back to my normal self and out at the night club w/ friends at 3 weeks out.

Sonnie,

I had a question for you.  From lurking on this board on and off for a couple of years, I think you had your plastics with Dr. Livingston, right?  Are you saying that he was able to do your brachio and your LBL in the same stage?  I know it's usually a case by case basis if that's a possibility but I just wanted to see if I understood you correctly.  I think I need to call him for a consultation.  I've been hearing such good things about him from other patients lately.  Thanks
