After CT SCAN!!! The unexplainable ?????? HELP
Hi All!
Im back home from the hospital and what i was sure fluid build up in abdomen but after ct scan , NOTHING is there!!! Yes. im happy but confused as hell. I had seroma's after TT and i just knew it was back my stomach is very swollen and tender to the touch, i had an 15 pound gain in the past week but all test reveals no signs of fluid build up. I cant understand and im totally confused, my abdomen still hurts to touch and the doctors examined me and when they pounced on it they said that got the ripple effect and was sure fluid was in there. I had the radiologist look at ct scans 2 times and no signs of fluid. WTF is going on!!! Excuse me but im just pissed off because i look like im crazy now. What about the swelling?? how can that be explained and the weight gain all of a sudden???? The ER doctors just wants me to follow up with primary care doctor in the morning and sent me home. Yes i went to the ER because the pain was that bad , i couldnt rub or touch my tummy, i can feel lots of pressure when i walk now , so i ask what is going on with me?? !!! I think that ive lost my mind over here.. :( My husband and the doctors all are looking at me like im crazy , well my husband can even tell you last week or so i was 15 pounds lighter and my belly didnt look like i was 6 months preggers! LOL , Yeah i admit since i lost my job and have been home for the last couple months my eating habits are off wack and i need to kick my ass back in gear. LOL , but i havent been eating too bad.
OK Y'all help me out ,,, what else could make me swell up so much and cause pain like this???
I have no idea but I hope someone listens to you and gives you the help you need.
On the eating note, are you tracking your food? I think sometimes we don't realize how much we are eating (not that it would cause a 15 pound overnight gain). Right after plastics my metabolism was in high gear. I was eating close to 3000 calories a day. Then after about 3 months BAM, my regular metabolism returned and I gained weight so I had to cut back to my regular 1700-2000 calories a day. That was tough for me because I like to eat

I agree, I hope that someone will listen to you. You should not be in pain or have that immediate weight gain. When was your surgery and have you experienced the "bounce back" yet. Sorry, I don't know your dates, but I think 15 is a lot. You are doing the right thing by paying attention to your body and being a good advocate for yourself. We support you.
While seroma is a common cause for abdominal swelling after surgery, slipping of the muscle repair stitches also rarely occurs. The CT scan would show this, assuming you did have a muscle repair as part of your TT.
