Have any of you ever gotten a cold while still healing from plastics? I'm worried about going to the E.R because all the ones near me that take my insurance dont even know about gastric bypass care ..they try to give me meds I cant have.... so it makes me wonder about the plastics.

Is it bad that I want to call my surgeon before going in anywhere?

Call the surgeon! I would either call you ps or wls. Ask one of them to call something in for you. Don't hesitate.

Girl, I am praying you don't have a cough...I can't even imagine cough with cold at this point in the healing game! Chin up...it's a bump in the road

Can you not get in to see your PCP? Why would you need to go to an ER for a cold? I hope you feel better soon.

Here in my town, the "e.r." Is also the urgent care, they just determine which side to send you to after triage. Doctors are jam packed and you cannot get in to see one unless you already have an appointment or if you want to wait 3-5 weeks. Medical care in the Central Valley is horrid.

Wow. That's horrible. Here in my town it may take a few weeks if you make an appointment for an annual check-up, but if you are sick your PCP will usually see you that day.

I would call the plastic surgeon. He is the one monitoring your recovery so he should at a minimum be aware of what you are taking. He shouldn't have a problem calling it in or telling you to talk to your pop if that is what he wants you to do.

Definitely call your plastic surgeon and follow his/her suggestion.  You poor thing!  Sneezing and coughing is THE WORST in my opinion.....heal quickly!
