Do these drains make my butt look big?
I feel a little silly about this as I just realized this morning how silly I sound when I say I'm hiding the drains because they make me look bulky!
Y'all, my surgeon took off 19.4 lbs of skin. To think that the drains look horrible as opposed to the skin is just silly of me!
Anyhow, I'm on a mission! I'm going to try and crochet a "pouch belt" today. Just a cute belt that goes around my pantsline (yoga pants of course) that has a pouch for drains with a little button flap to hide the lines in. I'll post pictures if it turns out okay! It's just that I have the holidays coming up and while I'm not embarrassed of the drains, there are people that really dont want to see the bloody clear plastic tubes and bulbs at the dinner table, ya know?
How have you guys dealt with drains? Did you hide them? disguise them? Let them show? Up until now I've just put a sweater around my waist, which is fine but it gets in the way when having to go potty then I gotta re-adjust it and all. I think a belt would be nice =) and I can wa**** afterwards and have a cute "no-purse today" belt ^_^

The belt sounds like it will work.
Just remember the drains usually don't lt all that long.
I wore a lanyard and hung them from it. When I took a shower I would hang the lanyard on a hook in the shower. I only had my drains 10 days. How many days does your surgeon expect you to have yours???

I'm still producing 40-50cc a day from each drain (2 drains but coming from 4 drain sites, each side is connected with a splitter so there's only 2 "bulbs") My stitches should come out on the 15th. We don't have an estimate on the drains as of yet. They're slowing down but the one on the left is still pretty dark. I have almost NO swelling unless I've had to cough or I fall asleep without going potty first, then I feel a little swollen. He did "guestimate" about 1-2 more weeks but it really just depends on when I'm not a walking leak-bucket I guess lol

Last year when I had complications from gall bladder surgery I had several JP drains as well as a bile bag. My sister sewed me up a bag that was fashionable and i wore it across my body and put my drains inside if it. it was perfect....and I loved not worrying about my heavy bile bag dropping if I forgot to hold it when I stood up! And I loved that my sister made it for me
For my first round I used work badge clips and clipped them to my binder. On this 2nd round my binder covered not only my thighs but my stomach as well so I stuffed 6 drains in a fanny pack.

I was so scared of the pain that I was shaking before the anesthesiologist came in. Honestly, I dont hardly feel my surgery areas and I'm only on Norco. The only pain I have is due to my bad back and because the hospital I was at, the nurses felt it pertinant to NOT give me my B12 sublingual that I have every day so I have the sharp burning from that.
The plastics arent bothering me all that much to be honest. When I had my Norco refilled, I was honest with my surgeon and told him; his work doesnt hurt, its my back and the pain meds are helping my back so that I can relax and let the work he did heal up properly.
I had myself all worked up because all that scared me was the PAIN. Come to find out there is a severe LACK of pain. I may not have had as many surgeries as most but I do have incisions from pelvic bone to sternum, all the way around my hips (43'' at this point till swelling goes down) and two 6'' cuts (one on each side of my lady parts) so believe me, I was worried about pain. There isnt any ^_^ tylenol could take care of the surgical "pain" for me, I'm only taking it for my back at the moment.
