Swelling from exercise?
Hi folks,
I hope all is well. :) Once again, I am hoping to benefit from your collective wisdom. I am about three most out from an extended tummy tuck and medial thigh lift. Over the past two weeks, I've noticed that my upper abdomen (above the belly button) is REALLY distended (by 3-4 inches). I am wondering if it's possible that I'm swelling in response to vigorous exercise. I do about 60 minutes of high intensity cardio (running, stairs or elliptical) and have been doing abs every day. I figured that enough time had gone by that I wouldn't see swelling anymore, so I am wondering if I should be concerned. My husband noticed it tonight and said my belly is distended like a starving person... :( He was afraid I was sick.
I am not due for another post op until January, but I wasn't sure if I should check in with my doctor before that. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Stacy

Sometimes I will wear my binder for a few hours in the evening to reduce the swelling and to help me feel 'tightened up'.
You can call your doc to be safe, but I think this is pretty common for the first year or so as our lymph systems are re-generating after being cut.
I am over a year out and I still swell from working out. I wear my garment still to this day to the gym! I sweat more but feel that I am pretty snug and it helps with the post workout swelling!
