Sure, I thought about it a lot, because I'd rather stay close to home and not travel......but I decided against teaching program because for my area it was not big enough of a discount and it was still more money than going to a very experienced and well respected surgeon in MX....

Plus you have all the reviews here and pics of Dr.S work...if I did the teaching program, there are no reviews, no pics to go by of the work of the surgeon working on me...seemed like quite a big leap of faith for me. And I was unsure of the follow up care or if I needed revisions or more work...who would I see? Someone new  going through the the teaching program everytime?

It just didn't make sense to have a newbie work on me and it cost more ( yes, they are overseen by some excellent surgeons, but the surgeon doing the actual cutting is not established or experienced or staying put, they move on to their private practice which is the goal if they pass)...plus as newer surgeons that are slower in doing work, I'm guessing they can't do too many procedures at one time, so you have that same problem of having to go back for multiple surgeries.

So price was a huge factor in my decision, although everyone says that should not matter, the reality is for some of us, we just can't come up with large amounts of money that is needed for major overhauls of our previously obese bodies, no matter how much we wish we could........so we can't just go see all the surgeons and decide based on who we feel is the best or most qualified or most recommended.......all the surgeons I spoke with seemed very qualified and very kind, but price was the huge difference.......if the teaching program was cheaper, I maybe would have risked the inexperience factor....but all things considered Dr.S is the best value.... hands down from all my research....now obviously, none of us want to go to a crappy surgeon or risk our lives (just cause of a good price)......but I'm confident that Dr. S  is good at what he does and that I will have a good result too....(and I do like the idea of twilight sedation over general too) I still wish I didn't have to travel by myself to MX to do it and would love to be local....but nothing can be perfect, can it....LOL.

Thank you for posting the information about Dr. S. I am in the process of trying to locate a surgeon for my thigh lift and to repair the "new" belly button from my TT. I can deal with my bat wings and the extra bit under my chin, but my thighs are just ridiculous... fighting rashes almost constantly and shaving is a real booger bear and my belly button is really nothing more than a slit.

The more I read about Dr. S, the more I think he's the answer to my plastics need...
