LBL on 11/1...Recovery questions?
My Dr. has instructed me to not stay in any one position for more than two hours. Especially on the back. He is concerned with the healing in the incision area directly in the center of my lower back. Has anyone else been instruced to not stay in the same position to long as well?
If so, does anyone have any tips/reccommendations as to how you slept? Im debating whether to try and sleep in a recliner for at least the first week, but dont know if I can sleep on my side in a recliner as well. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Todd
I just had my LBL+Thigh Lift+Butt Lift on 10/3.
I did not have any similar instruction from my surgeon. His advice in general was to move as much as I could, to try and walk some every hour I was not sleeping. I slept in my recliner for about the first week, week and a half.
So far my healing has been easy. I get 100+ gm of protein plus at least 100 oz of water a day. I have had no separations, seromas or keloids. All of my drains came out in the first 10 days. I walk as much as I can. At about the 2 1/2 week mark I could walk my usual 3-4 miles a day again.
The only thing that has been bothering me is the swelling, and that is really just me being imaptient and wanting to see the final result now. It can get somewhat uncomfortable if i over-do it.

I saw that you had your LBL in June.. how long did it take your swelling to go away or at least subside a lot? I had my LBL on Sept 6th and i know I am only 8 weeks out but the swelling is CRAZY sometimes especially if I am on my feet for 8-10 hours. when I sleep without my compression garment I am so comfortable but when I wake up it's pretty painful. Is there anything you do to reduce the swelling besides the garment?
