That is really good to hear.  I was hoping I wouldn't have them in for 8 days.

I just had my LBL.  I showered every day after surgery with my drains.  I just pinned them to a lanyard around my neck.  I had 5 coming from thighs, groin, back, and abdomen.  Its definitely doable - just be sure you have long enough leads that you don't pull on them - that can be uncomfortable.

Hello, I had a tummy tuck and breast lift last year, September 2011.  There were two drains tubes, one coming from each hip, and the two tubes were connected to one drain container.  I had the same question as you before my surgery.  Some smart cookie on this forum told me to use a pair of old panty hose, tie it around my waist, and pin the drain container to the panty hose. This worked great...I was able to shower with no worry of my drain container hanging down and floating around on the shower floor...my arms were free...and I just hung up the panty hose to dry and used it again next time.  Had my surgery on a Tuesday, one night in hospital, home on Wednesday.  First follow-up visit to the surgeon on Friday, and bandages were removed...and free to take a shower.  It felt sooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

Good luck and speedy recovery,.
