Lymphatic Drainage Massge

Has anyone tried lymphatic drainage massage to help reduce swelling after LBL?

Since returning to work I have gained 3 lbs of water, mainly in my abdomen.  I know this will happen until the lymph ducts re-establish and time will be the ultimate cure.  I just want to try and help things along.

I've read where it works great. I just have my DH, massage my areas every night with the thick cream my Dr recommended. (oh that sounds a little dirty) But you know what I mean. If you can do it, I say go for it. If nothing else it will feel great!

I went to a licensed therapist for 5 sessions (1/wk) after face/neck/ba/bl/arm surgeries and it helped with swelling, bruising and flexibility.

I had my ps in Rio.  A licensed lymphatic massage nurse came to my hotel for 2.5 weeks, until I left for home.  1 hr every morning.  I think it helped.  She also changed my bandages and checked for infection, etc.  My surgeon came every night.

I go 2x a week and see a world of difference. My surgeon recommended their massage therapist 2 weeks out and I'm so glad I did. I had a lot of swelling a bruising in my thighs from lipo and mobility was slow. Since the massages I'm moving like my olds self although I'm not 100%. Have it done and do know you'll need more that one session. I'm sure you'll feel much better afterwards.
