My PS has told me to start applying Mederma to my incisions.  This stuff is quite expensive and I need to paint my body with it 3-4 times a day for 8 weeks.  Anyone know where I can get it in bulk or discounted?

I use cocoa butter formula with vitamin E in it (palmer's brand) bought it in bulk through amazon.com. I've been using it twice a day, really massaging it into the scar each time. My LBL scar looks amazing for only being 5 months out. Mederma longterm was just not in the budget for me.

I have not found Mederma to be effective. I have been using Scar Away silicone strips that you can buy online in various sizes. I cut mine down to size to get more sections of an appropriate width to cover scar. They are reusable (1 wk). I put them on after work, wash them by wiping over a wet bar of Dial soap and air drying on a paper towel (silicone side up). During the day I apply cocoa butter. I am using a 1 inch width cut in half for arms and breasts and have purchased the wider strips to use on lower body when I have that surgery. I have also used at night on Chin and eyes. Good luck!

I am also using a silicon scar cream I got from the med spa that is attached to the ps office. Way better than Medema and in the long run....IT'S WORTH IT...so don't skimp
