First Post - 25lbs to goal- boobs and tummy

Hey there! I am 25lbs to goal and my boobs are deflated and I'm starting to investigate my options.

I accidentally went to a consult with a plastic surgeon. I walked in to set up an appt and the doctor had had a cancellation so I walked right in after they took my history.

My boobs seem to be my biggest concern because I've always had big boobs and even after breastfeeding for a year, they were still awesome. This weight loss has them deflated and pointed down.

At first, I definitely wanted boobs first but then I talked to the RN at my bariatric practice and she said her abdominoplasty caused her boobs to pull down some since she did it second.

She recommended doing it all in one swoop and just being in pain for 2 weeks and done with it. Any insight is welcome. I will be getting a lift and probably gel implant because hell, they'll be in there, might as well get me back up to a D.

However, if I can't afford that, do you think I should do boobs or stomach first? I don't want to undo any work, of course. Seems like you can cover the boobs with a great bra, etc.

I plan to be on goal at the end of the year. Is February an ok time frame for my first surgery ?

All 3 of the surgeons I spoke with indicated that the best result comes with 'doing the core first'.

I thought that I would only do my arms and breasts (lift only, no implants) so I had that done almost 2 years ago.

I later decided that I wanted a full tummy tuck and had it done 7 months ago.

I have a great result, but if I had it to do again, I would have done the abdomen first.

Also, many surgeons will not do a breast lift and implants at the same time. They suggest 2 procedures. A lift first to stabilize the tissue and then later add the implants.

You might consider the abdominoplasty and breast lift at one time and then implants later.

Thank you for your insight? Really, though, no implants when they are already in there?

My surgeon said they'd do the lift, implants and tummy all at once but nothing else. They didn't want me to under too long.

This was only my first consult, though.

How long after hitting goal did you have plastics?

Actually, I had my arms and breast lift about 15 pounds before I got to my goal weight.

I had my tummy tuck about 15 months after I got to my goal weight.

As far as doing implants and the lift at the same time, interview a few surgeons and find out what they recommend.

I was never going to,have implants, so I didn't ask, but from reading here for 2 years, I have seen many people who say that their surgeons want to do them in separate procedures for the best results.

I did brachioplasty, tummy tuck and breast lift at the same time.  I hated my arms, and I had an abcominal hernia so it made sense to do the tummy tuck at the same time.  With the thought of my arms and belly looking could, I couldn't imagine my hanging boobs in the middle !  Before I lost weight, I was probably a 44 F at Lane Bryant.  The surgeon thought I would end up with a "nice B" cup post surgery.

I had the surgery about two years, post WLS, I am 5' 3" and have held a steady weight of 175 for about a  year.  I was very happy with the plastic surgery (will probably be paying for it  for years ..but anyways..)  I do love my arms !  My bra size ended up being a 34 DD - and the lift made a significant difference - no implants - didn't want them - certainly didnt' need them. I a bit larger on the bottom - hips and thighs, so a DD is a fine balance.

I was a 42DD before surgery and I'll probably down to a C now.

Hubby wants me back to a DD and I think I agree. I'm 160 now, 5'2" but surgeon wants me down to 135 first.

Thank you for the input. I'll probably be paying for it for a while also but hubby thinks I've worked this hard, I deserve to go the whole way so to speak lol

I'm going under one time.  November 9th.  Getting lower body lift and breast lift (no implants).

You may want to ask your PS how long your weight should be stable for the best results.  I've heard some PS like your weight to be steady for a year before plastics, for optimal results.

I'll likely be a full B small C after-and that is fine since I'm very active and don't want big boobs in my way.  I decided to do the boobs too because in order to get a completely flat tummy, they need to "pull up" which requires incisions under the breasts........

So, after November 9th, I'll be Franken*****with all my new seams!!  Just missed Halloween!

I would do both at same time. Only one anesthesia, and it would be less expensive. With the tummy I would highly recommend the extended version, it really does a great job on the outer thighs. The breast lift and implants was my easiest and least painful procedure too, so it would combine well with tummy which is tougher, I would think. I would also wait till goal to do breasts, mine really took a hit the last 25 lbs! Good luck, and congrats on your weight loss too.
