Hi all. I signed up here years ago, but I haven't been around since then.
I lost 140 and have a pannus that's driving me absolutely crazy. I have sustained this weight for a year.
I'm looking for others who had surgery at this size (approx. 300 pounds) who can give me any tips and possibly photos because I'm having trouble committing to this surgery without being close to my goal weight -- but I feel like if I don't I won't be able to go any further.
I feel like it's what's holding me back.
Thanks for any support

Look up SeattleMaui's profile. She had her Pannus removed during the process.
I think if you can do it and go into it knowing that you will likely need more work done later, then go for it. It would probably be unrealistic to expect this to fix your stomach for good when you still have substantial weight to lose.
Don't let that skin stand in the way of your progress. There are no "rules" for when and what procedures....you have to do what is best for you.

i had lost 250 lbs when i had my first TT! i did it because i was dealing with very bad back pain. i am an RN and on my feet 12 hour nights! my bmi was over 35 but not by much. i knew i would need a revision later. i was only doing it for pain improvement. i got a seroma but that was my only complication. i took 8 weeks off and really was careful. anyone with a bmi greater than 35 runs a very high risk on complications. it really should not be done for benign reasons. the cost financially and physically can be high. find a good surgeon and discuss it. i assume you are self pay. i weighed 238 when i had mine done.
12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
