Has this happened to anyone else ?

I have had trouble healing in that one spot that most anchor cut people have....where the T meets. I thought I would be extra careful, this wouldn't happen to me...blah blah blah. Well mine started from the beginning. I was gross, turned into a triangle of necrotic tissue. My husband (the greatest man alive) has been applying creams, and tending to my every need for almost 4 weeks.

Weds at my follow up appointment I was excited to lose my drains, but not so excited that my black triangle had to be cleaned up. It was cool to watch the dr dig in there and pull out all the dead tissue (couldn't feel a thing). We were insturcted to pack the area 2 times a day. This all seemed like an easy tas****il my husband took off the dressing to change it and I looked at this giant hole in my body. It's so gross. I feel so bad that my husband is having to look at this and pack it twice a day. Is he ever going to find me attractive again? Has anyone else experienced anything like this? How long did it take to heal? This happened to me too with my c-section but honestly can't remember how long it took. :(

I guarantee he still finds you attractive, hole and all!

I've not had surgery yet, but thanks for the heads up of what I might have to expect.

I guess my question is this:  even with the issue, was it worth it?  Would you do it again??

Heck Yes!!!! It was more painful than I imagined, and its taking longer for me to recover than I thought but every time I look in the mirror or try on a dress I am so happy. I had 11 pounds removed from my tummy and with all the swelling, complications, set backs....I would do it again.

To me I didn't just have this awesome surgery but I truly learned what an amazing husband I have, what awesome friends I have, and that I am blessed. I think this experience may be the best thing that happened to my marriage, funny cause I had surgery on my 12 year anniversary. It's easy for people to say they care about you but my husband has showed me without a doubt he is with me to the end.

I have been going thru this on my right boob after Breast Lift Anchor Cut 30 July and I went thru it last August on my TT on the Tconnection with slough and gangrene. Last year it was debrided and packed and then decided I should be on a Wound Vac which was about 6-7 weeks. In my Breast Lift this year the area that didn't heal well on my TT was revised and I look flat and no puffy female area!
You look back on my postings to see my struggles.
You are not alone! Some of us just do not heal well or quickly. I do not nor did I ever smoke nor do I have diabetes.

It happened to me back in January (tummy tuck and hernia repair),  My surgeon debrided for 9 weeks and it still wouldn't heal.  At that point, he put on a wound vac. It took seven more weeks, but it did the trick and looks fine now.

Yes.... That was my complication!!!
Follow me on Twitter @fatleave I've had a FTT with extended incision and a second surgery due to complications (just as invasive) I documented almost daily both times with lots of pictures and tips/suggestions. scroll to the very beginning of my posts and read onwards. Even with my complications I would do it again in a heart beat.
