Wedding or Plastics?
Our middle son got engaged a few months back and is in the thows of wedding planning (well, his fiance is!). The wedding is August 10, 2013. Our daughter got married last September (2011) and we gave her the wedding of her dreams.
I learned that my future daughter in law was given about 1/2 of what she needs for a wedding budget. I knew right then and there that I should postpone my surgery to redirect the money to them so they can have the wedding they want.
I talked to my hubby about this and he assured me that we have enough to do both! I was very excited and surprised at my reaction. I really didn't think having plastics was that important....until I made up my mind to do it and scheduled it. I've put a lot of prep time into mentally preparing for this and then when faced with postponing, it really did hit me hard.
Then when I contacted HR about the leave paperwork, they told me the doctor must put "medically necessary" so I can be approved for leave with pay. Surely due to the excessive sweating and infections in my belly button he'll do that??!!!! If not, I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
Oh, and I've decided (if the surgeon will do it all) to have the BL at the same time as the LBL. Might as well get all of the pain over in one trip!
So, lucky for me I married to a saver and not a spender, we can do both. Life is good and I am very blessed.

I just wanted to let you know that when I had my TT last Jan I had no problem getting my state disability. As far as work...you just tell them you are having surgery, I was told by my doc you don't even need to tell them what you are having.
good luck to you! YOu have worked hard on your journey and deserve this PS..it is so worth it and you will feel great!
