Have had the VSG sleeve on 6/10/11 and this Wednesday had a tummy tuck, sides taken in, and booty lift. Just wondering if anyone else has had a smillar experience. I found it rougher than the sleeve but I believe the result is work it.

It was by far a MUCH harder surgery than the sleeve.  I had my TT last Jan and it was a really tough few days...but it does get better..and so worth it!  I would do it again without question.

YOu are right..the results are worth it!  Keep focusing on that.

Thanks for posting this. I had anchor cut tummy tuck and hernia repair almost 3 weeks ago.......still in slow motion. The first wek sucked but gets easier everyday. I think if these drains ever come.out I will be back to normal. The swelling is starting to go down so I can see some results and yes I would do it again. Worst pain ever, but sure worth it.

Good positive healing vibes being sent your way.

Thank you for sharing. My post below Mikimi's pretty well sums up how I am dong. The pain for me really has not been that bad except for getting up from the prone position to standing. I will see the doc on the 5th to see how I am coming and if my drains can come out. Based on your experience I will be prepared to leave them in for a while.

As MOST of us will tell you, even those with complications (hello-me!), we all are quite pleased with our results even in the midst of pain/healing difficulties in our recovery.
There have been a few who have complained on for sure much more pain than what they had experienced in their WLS. My understanding of this is that with the TT, our muscles are tightened and it is in our abdomen the center/core and "solar plexus" or our body. Also many are told not to stand up straight the first few days which I found "painful" in from my Timmy to lower back all at one time.
Yet I am most pleased with my TT results even though my TT is more a panni of "excess skin removal" based on what my HMO and insurance would covet but as I live in Israel with Socialised Medicine and I went through Public hospital as opposed to Private, my hospitalization (was about two weeks including removal of drains) was covered and said hospital took under consideration my living three hours away by public transportation and for some "not know beforehand" and wound-healing issues that necessitated weekly hospital clinic appointments and with my TT a very long hospitalization with a teeny gangrene, debridement and treatment with WoundVac in hospital not at home as I live far away and the PS that did my surgery did and still does his utmost to help me.
I had Breast Lift 30/07/12 and my complications are definitely a mystery to my PS at this point. It was one thing when he suspected sensitivity/allergy to the sutures where some of my incisions open (dehiscence) about ten days AFTER my sutures are removed.
Then with my right breast (named Devil) things were beginning to slightly improve two Thursdays ago; and then this past Wednesday when I removed its special dressing, there were clear yellow drips I hoped were only serous fluid. I showered and dressed ut and in middle of the night I awoke to wet tshirt. At the hospital clinic it was pus;cultured and started me on Augmentin.
Look back at my postings. Not very pleasant. Others have written and posted pics of their wounds in its stages if healing. Difficult viewing-but helped me when I unfortunately was dealt my own complications.
I don't have diabetes nor do I smoke.
And one I heal (and my scars do not usually look good) I am pleased with my flatter tummy and my higher boobs here I hope I will not suffer from further rashes or fungi ever again.
So..,take your pain meds if you need them-do not be a matyr! Rest but also walk a little if/when you can. Drink/eat protein (even more now for healing than before your PS). I've heard of extra supplements of Vit A and Zinc (neither jelled me much but I am an anomoaly) and I think their are two homeopathic remedies that many recommend. Swelling is common for the first several weeks so do not be alarmed. Any medical concerns, ask here but always also ask your PS,GP or Nurse.
Enjoy your newer body!

Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement and advice. I was discharged from the hospital aftter only one day to recoup at home. (I am using 5 weeks of sick leave from work). I have one drain (right flank) that is draining much more than the other two. As with you standing up from the prone position is the most difficult activity for me but once I am up I am fine. The pain has really not been that intolerable for me. I have found that Tylenol takes the edge off quite nicely. I try to move around the house as much as I can and I will see the doc on Oct 5. hopefully the drains will come out then and I will see if I can do some light rehab exercising at my gym (i.e. - light cardio such as a treadmill) I know that I will have to stay off the weights for quite a while until it heals.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with me. I am so sorry that you are still having issues and you are in my prayers now. Hopefully my experience will help you as much as yours has helped me. Take care and thank you

For me every day was a little easier. I would feel a little better, be able to do a little more. Etc. My Dr let me go the treadmill after a couple of weeks, as long as my heart rate didn't go up much. She wants me to wait until 6 weeks to use the weight machines, but I think I will start them next week and just do light weights. My swelling is going down, all my wounds have been closed since week 2. I'm sure you will love your results. Good luck and hoping you have a fast recovery!

Thank you. Yes every day has been a little better as far as activity level and pain level. I will see my doc on the 5th do check my incisions and see if the drains come out. I am still having some drainage in them 4 days out but I guess that is normal. Like you, I hope to be able to hit the treadmill for some light cardio to help rehab. I will see what the doc says first. Again, thank you for the encouragement.
