I definitely understand the motive - I am having my LBL next week.  Personally, I think it sounds kinda tacky.  Its the equivalent of saying - Hey give me a gift.  I got a similar notice on facebook just the other day for someone want an really expensive coat - just because he had never had one.  I'd like a 3,000 burberry trench now that I can wear one but i'm not going to ask strangers or near strangers to finance it.

Care credit is a rip off - credit card rates for a body lift - BLECH.  You could probably get a personal loan at a much lower rate - if you have collateral for it, or a cosigner.

I personally  would not put up a request and would not contribute for plastics.  A heart transplant etc yes, plastics no.  I refinanced my house. Without that, I would be covered head to toe today too.

Kind of tacky, I would give money to someone for vet bills but never for someone wanting PS, I used care credit and overtime and then 2 jobs to pay for mine.
Best money I ever spent

I agree with the above comments.  I used and am continuing to use my 401k. I have care credit just in case but hopefully will never have to use it.

Good luck.

My two cents:

First try to refocus.  This journey is not just about how you look-it should be mostly for the health benefits of being an active, healthy, safe weight person.  I get the visual part of it-we all want to look good!  However, 99% of looking good is projected from how you truly feel about your looks.

If you don't love your looks enough to wear a swimsuit now, there is a chance you won't like you after surgery either...you may just refocus the self loathing to another part of the body.

You should love you and be proud of your body-warts and all.  Really work on that.

I would not ask for money for plastics-ESPECIALLY from strangers.  There are ways to pay for it if you really want it.  Get another job, move to a cheaper place, cut back on expenses and save for it.

I am having a LBL November 9th, paid for from savings. I feel a bit guilty spending our money on this, but my kids are grown, out of college and self sufficient (one married, one engaged and one still at home but self sufficient).  The money I'm spending on this is going to delay my Mediterrean cruise by a few years, but it is worth it.

It took me several years to decide to do plastics because I really like the way I look, even with the extra skin.  I am very active, and the skin has caused some hygene issues, especially in the summer.  But I've never let the skin stop me from wearing anything I want to wear.  I do wear a swimsuit proudly-in my mind, I look as good as a VS model!! I've even donned a two piece at the beach....if folks don't like my skin, they can look the other way!

If you really want PS, I hope you can find a way to do it.

Hijack Kim! I did exactly as you suggested. I was living in a gorgeous big home. I moved from there to a teeny studio apt, sold my Highlander and now drive a Corolla.  I got a second job and borrowed from my 401k. I also got rid of Cable TV and stopped eating out.

My ex was horrified to see me living in a studio apt, but it never bothered me!
