I went from 305 to 175 in almost two years. I lost 50 pounds and then got the bypass surgery. I am still struggling to lose more weight but it has only been 9 months. However, I have a lot of extra saggy skin on my stomach and a little on my arms. It isnt terrible because I am only 22. Also, my breasts are sooo saggy it is embarrassing. Not sure if they can take skin away from the breasts and still do a lift. My other issue is that I rather not get implants because I have a family history of breast cancer. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am 22 and want to feel happy about losing so much weight but get kinda depressed looking in the mirror naked.

Thanks for the advice guys

You indicate that you have a history of breast cancer in your family.  Have you considered getting the breast cancer gene test?  I ask this question because I was in the same situation.  While getting the answer to that question can be a difficult thing to know about yourself, it gives you some decisions to make about how you want to manage that part of your life.  I have the brca1 gene mutation.  A couple of years after my bariatric surgery, I opted for a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction from my abdomen.  It allowed me to remove most of my risk of breast cancer.  I chose reconstruction from my abdomen for two reasons - I didn't want the foreign body of the implants and it gave me most of a tummy tuck.  Having the gene mutation meant that the surgery was covered by my insurance so I managed to get all of the reconstruction and skin removal so that I not only felt better with the reduced risk but also looked much better.  It is a way to turn a bad situation into a good thing.

My advice is to look for surgeons in your area who specialize in bariatric patins and schedule consultations.  Many will do the consultations for free.  During the consults explain your history and concerns and see what they say.  If you talk to the more experienced surgeons, I am sure you will not be the first person with this kind of history to talk to them.
