I feel a little quilty not sharing my surgerical expreience on this site. I really thought I would be posting and encouraging others just like so many of you have done for the rest of us. What stopped me? Uggggghhhhh the pain. OMG I was prepared knew it would hurt but I must be a baby cause I found it hard to do much, or have clear mind to post..I only decided to share this morning cause I thought there must be other people with similar experiences as mine and just know you are not alone. The first week sucks but it does get better. I'm reducing the pain meds but I still take them.

That being said. I had an anchor cut and hernia repair procedure in which 11 pounds were removed.. My wonderful doctor spent over 5 hours just on my tummy. I can't imagine having this procedure with anyone else. Not only did he do an excellant job, he has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have ever had. My confort and healing process were his top priority. Not only is he the kindest person I have ever met, he fought with my insurance company to get  this procedure covered. ;-)
Here is doctor Katzen's info if your interested in meeting him. He does do free consults here in socal.

How long before you weighed yourself? I am a daily weigher to keep myself in check but beacuse of sweeling I have put the scale away. Well actually my husband hid it from me. LoL

DO NOT WEIGH yourself for a month, especially if the top of your thighs are swollen, I had 4 lbs of skin removed with lipo as well, and I did weigh myself after 2 weeks and had gained 10 lbs. 6 weeks out shows my 4 lb loss.

Hide the scale or you will be very sad when you weigh in and see a 10 pound gain. ALso remember that just because they removed that much does not mean that it will all reflect on the scale. From my 16 that was removed I saw 9 or 10. Reason, All that fat and skin had fluid in it and the body will replenish that back. Just enjoy the fact that the extra skin is gone and love the new you.

I am planning on having a consult with Dr. Katzen sometime in early Nov. Would you mind sharing your experience with him? a private message is ok too, but what procedures did you have done and what are his costs like, did you see other surgeons in the area as well, anything you can share would be helpful, especially what the initial consult was like? Thanks in advance for your response!

A few questions you asked......initial consult is free. He is patient ands will listen to what your concerns are. I found Dr. Katzen on this site I highly recommend you read his reviews. They are all great and there are over 200 of them.

Just wanted to say you are not a baby!  This is a very painful surgery to recovery from. I am a baby and frankly even expecting it to be bad it was worse than I expected. But I did live through it and am not sorry at all I did it! Best of luck with your healing!
