Hang in there. I had my last drain until week 6 and lied to get it out cuz I couldn't stand it any more. It was close so I wasn't worried about a seroma. As for work, I went back to work at week 4 after an LBL & Brachio and w/ the last drain still hanging around. If your Dr doesn't have any objections and the only thing is the drains you can hide them under clothes and get back to work (assuming it's an office job)
some of my clothing hides the drains but for the most part going to the restroom is a hassle with 4 of them still in. hopefully next week he will have them out. they are still pulling around 30cc total.. he is gona pull one on Friday. or rather he showed my daughter how to pull it .. geeze sccares me hahah but i live so far from him its less costly for me this way:) Yea i have an office job. but the company i worlk for isn't very forgiving for time I spend away from the desk incase i have to adjust myself .. the drains hurt when they rub on my scars the wrong way no matter how much clothing i put between the bulbs n them.. i will be so happy when they are out :) ..
Did you have "just" a panneculectomy or did they do some muscle work too? I'm looking into submitting to insurance to pay for a panni removal and I'm just trying to gather as much information as I can. Can you tell me about your procedure and things leading up to it......I'm interested in anything you want to share.
And BTW, I am so sorry you are still dealing with those drains! But hopefully you can just pin them to a shirt and get back to work! I know how hard it tis to be home and be bored! Are you in a lot of pain??
Praying for you!

The doc repaired two hernia's while he did the pani, one major one in my upper tummy from my last surgery that didn't heal properly and one from being over weight in my lower tummy so I am thinking he also tightened the muscles a lil while he was in there.. sometimes the docs leave us a bit confused LOL ..I had started to get rashes on the folds of my skin and so the doc submited the paperwork for the pani and my insurance approved it rather quickly. I also had what they considered to be three folds on my tummy rather than two one very low one which added to the rashes.
The only pain i have is from my belly button not healing properly and the drain bulbs rubbing on my scars..

Speaking of those rashes you had, did you have to give your doc pictures of them? Did he take pictures of any of them? I get them under my boobs and in my belly folds, but have not been documented lately. Had a terrible rash under both breasts and was iintending to ask my PCP for that Nystatin powder, but I did forget. After over a week, the rash finally disappeared. I think maybe it was stress/nerves because we just moved to a new home. I had pics on my computer of my rashes from a few years ago, but they got deleted by mistake. Should I try really hard to get pictures or is it not necessary?
