panni vs abdominoplasty
I have lost 125 lbs but not at goal yet...still need to lose about 25-30 lbs plus weight from skin removal to take me to goal. My RNY was 18 months ago.
My question...since I am not at goal, would I benefit from a panni for now and a full abdominoplasty at a later date...panni is covered so I am self paying no matter what. Breast reduction is also covered and I am self paying for brachioplasty.
Thoughts??

I just had my consult with my plastic surgeon 2 days ago. I too am covered for a panni and breast reduction but I need an abdominoplasty.
His words to me were... I can do just the panni however if you decide to have an abdominoplasty later the results will not be as good. I have spent the last 2 days calling 3 other plastic surgeons and they stated the same.
I have decided to go ahead with the abdominoplasty....
Can I ask how much more you have to pay for your abdominoplasty... I was quoted at $5300

I'm so anxious to have this done even though I am not at goal weight because of the discomfort of the hanging skin...even if it won't be 'perfect' in the end as I lose more weight...I can't stand it!!!
Plus I might be at goal given the waiting time until surgery which is likely several months
What time frame are you looking at?

I want to weigh 135 and I am currently 145 but after my tummy tuck and breast reduction my surgeon believes I will weigh in around 130 or 135

Surgery is likely a wait of several months.
My final outcome is more about improved mobility, less skin irritation and my clothing fitting properly than achieving a specific body shape...I will still be a women who lost over a 100 lbs who had plastic surgery and my body will reflect that in some way I am sure.
