Hi all, quick question.

I heard some rumblings that OHIP may decide to pay for plastic surgery for weight loss surgery patients.  Has anyone else heard any such rumours or know anything about this?

Hey Linda,

I asked Dr Nandagopal yesterday about this and his answer was a definite NO.  He has not heard of anythign coming down in fact he has heard it is getting harder and harder for WLS patients to get approved.  The process took me 4 months and he said that was quick.

It looks like there is another post on the ONtario forum about it so I posted there too.

Too bad, it would be nice to have it all covered!!  :)

Thanks Dana.  Looks like it is not something we will ever see in the immediate future.

Hopefully this is something other weight loss patients will be able to look forward to one day.

Take care..Linda

Linda, just a question about your breast lift.  Did the girls go down in size dramatically?  I do not want to lose too much size but they need to go back where they belong!!!

 Hi Dana,

Yes, my breasbs did go down, but only in cup size.  I used to "stuff" them in a 38C bra when they were hanging down like tube socks...lol...and after surgery I am a 38B.  I guess that is not that much of a difference.  It is so strange to see little breasts compared to how big they were when I was heavier.  No more strap marks, no more "too tight" marks on my back and under my breasts.  It is great.  I call them my "cute girls" now.  lol

Well that sounds great but I was a DD prior to surgery and now am a deflatted B- according to Dr. Nan...I am scared to loose more!!  he say they would be firmer but did not allude to smaller..without augmentation I will have to be happy with a push up bra forever.  Really that is not a huge deal, but am 39 and with a 10 year shelf life and the amount of surgery this body has alreasy had, I do not want to do it again?  I just do not want to end up an A cup!!!  yikes,  I gotta do some more research..
