9 days -post op LBL and thigh lift

Been away from the computer for a little bit. Had my LBL and thigh lift on 8/29. 2 night hospital stay after 8 hour surgery 12 lbs of skin removed.

When I woke up in recovery, I could not believe it was me. It looked (at first) like my abdomen was sunken in (under the clothes) due to the large "bump" I had.

Still have one drain in and secreting lots of fluid. Saw DR today. Back again on Tuesday.

All is well. Glad to be on this end of it and can't wait to be back to my new normal.

Wow! 12 lbs of skin! You sound like your are doing well. Is the recovery tough? My dr won't combine the two surgeries and does all outpatient surgeries. Are you sleeping in a recliner? I need both surgeries.

Mostly sleeping in recliner. Have slept in bed a few nights.

My doctor suggested doing the 2 together. 1 surgery, 1 recovery, pain is pain. It's not so bad. The thighs are harder than the LBL

This was not covered by insurance and doing the 2 together . I talked to dr today about that and said he hasn't found the argument yet (in Massachusetts) that they will buy into short of rashes.

Congrats! I hope that you heal quickly. I am four weeks out of lbl, arm lift and bl with aug and am starting to feel like my normal self( not there yet). Take it slow and you will be great

I amtaking it slow and need to remind myself that I have had major surgery and that my body needs time to heal. Ready to get moving again but have to take it easy.

The thighs are swelling a LOT and retaingin fluid. Dr removed 150+ml from rt thigh yesterday and about half that in the left thigh. Can't wait till the swelling goes down. They are larger than when I started.

Have to trust and have faith that they will reduce and will look nice (even with the scars) when they are done healing.

Glad to hear you are doing well.  You were concerned about the drive home, did you do OK?  Seems like the swelling is a problem for most people and hopefully that will get better for you soon.  I'm scheduled for my lbl and medial thigh lift on Sept 18th at MGH.  Its great to hear from someone who had the same surgery.  I wish you a speedy uneventful recovery!

 Hey Paula

Drive was a piece if cake. Quicker than yours will be. Also stayed at CCH for 2 nights. Long surgery.  8 hours and lost 12 lbs of skin

I wish you well. Maybe sometime we could meet in Hyannis and share our journeys

12 lbs!  Amazing.  8 hours is a long time.  You must have been wiped!  I'm hopeing to be well drugged for the ride home! lol  I would love to meet up with you in Hyannis.  My surgery is on the 18th so I'll need a little down time of course, but then let's do that.

Wishing you a speedy, uneventful recovery!

I'll be heading to key west mid oct to mid nov. then home for the holidays. Expect your thighs to be worse than the lbl. Drugs will do you good inthe beginning but I'm done for the most part

I had dr Fater. He is awesome and close by for my 2x a week follow ups

So hope to hear from you in between and hoping for a goood quick surgery and recovery for you
