Hello all. I had the sleeve surgery in Mexico and had a wonderful experience. My surgery was Feb 16th of this year and I have lost 123 pounds so far. I am planning my wedding for August 31st 2013 & am wondering at what point you are able to get the skin removal surgery-liposuction, tummy tuck, breast lift any of it...? I started as a heavyeight-438 and am today 340. However, there is now alot of extra skin and I know by next year there will be so much more. I want to get rid of it before the wedding and was wondering if that would be possible? Has anybody gone to Mexico for anything? Price ranges, experiences? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

The best results come when you have been at a stable (goal)weight for a few months at least.

Some people purposefully do their plastics in phases because they have so much to lose ... And need the health benefits of plastics before they get to goal.

They do that knowing that they will need a revision for best results.

It sounds like you have done great with your weight loss, congratulations.

But it also sounds like you may be expecting to lose another 150 pounds or more AND have plastics AND be ready for a wedding within the next 12 months.  That sounds like a tall order.

Your weight loss is going to slow as your bmi drops ..... You can't expect to lose at the pace you have been losing.

Dr. Sauceda in Mexico has an excellent reputation, I am sure you will hear from some of his patients who can hook you up with info.

Good luck!!!

Dr Sauceda is the BEST! You cannot go wrong with him as your surgeon! If your surgery costs over $7K, it is all inclusive. He pays up to $600 for your airfare, he pays for you to stay at the Hampton Inn and he covers your time in the clinic. You stay at the Hospital/Clini****il you are stable. IF you bring family or friends with you, he will pay for them to stay at the hotel while you're in the Hospital. He really cares about his patients' safety and he puts you top priority! This means a lot to me! His RN will visit you daily in the Hotel and help you shower, change your dressings and get you back into your compression garment, (he gives you two) -- He will visit you each evening after he's done with surgery. Wheve can you ever have a doctor and an RN see you every day for 2 weeks?

I started as a heavyweight too! 488lbs! And believe me I was a mess! I have been to Dr S - twice and have had numerous procedures - and 3 surgeries! I have no regrets!

Get as close to goal as possible, remain stable for a while - you may not be able to get it all done by your wedding. Your best result comes from being as close to goal as possible, or else you will need a revision at a later time.

The price is excellent, BUT I didn't go with Dr S for the price, I went with him because he has a lot experience with WLS patients and your safety is his top priority! He's honest and he has integrity. He won't promise you anything he cannot deliver!

The people who lose the most weight and are closest to goal have the best plastic surgery results. You should also be at a stable weight for several months at least. They say for a good tummy tuck when you lie down your stomach should not be protruding above your ribs.

I think getting to goal and waiting to be stable and recovering from plastic surgery you will most likely need more than 9 months.
