Had my outpatient surgery on Wed. It went well. Wore a compression garment on breasts/arms until Th; very little swelling or bruising, did not have drains. Starting Th, I wear a sports bra 24-7. Arms are a bit right feeling but fine. My right breast is killing me. Feels like I am being knifed or constantly given an electric shock. I do not want to move as I heart so bad. Taking pain meds every 4 hrs but get little relief. Any help or ideas when this will stop will be appreciated.

I had my upper back lift and implants on the 7th. At the beginning I had nerve pain in two spots: the bottom of my right breast and under my right arm at a spot on the wound of the upper back lift. The one on the breast went away within a week. But the one under the arm has not gone away. It coincides with moving some muscle, which occurs with many different movements. Yes, it feels like a knife. I calmed down about it once I found out it was a nerve pain and not something ripping.

There is no reason to NOT take pain meds this early on. See if the pain begins to abate. My surgeon said if the under the arm pain does not stop he may have to send me to therapy. Not sure what they would do for that. I just need a root canal under there! (little joke -- ha)

Glad your arms are okay -- i assume you meant "tight" feeling.

Thanks for replying! Sorry you too are feeling what appears to be the same kind of pain! Ouch! I am to be put into a comma and awakened when the pain is over. Just kidding. Yes, tight arms. Slender too! I do like looking at them!

Upper back surgery must be a challenging recovery. I am sure we will be pleased soon...take care! Speedy recovery!

Follow up - Saw my dr today and got a script for a nerve med. Hope it relives my electrocuting pains. I need to start massaging!
