Well I went to the consult with what seems to be an unrealistic view, he tol dmy my ins will cover (if they approve it) the Paniculectomy, but that for the best contour I need a Tummy tuck as well. I thought it would be like a "body tuck" thighs, butt, lower stomach.. or tt but its all seperate at least with this surgeon. Has anyone had insurance (right now I have americhoice tenncare****il I am eligible at work, but if so what procedure (s) did you have and what surgeon did you go to? has anyone had or known someone who just ahd the  Paniculectomy? If so how did it turn out do they regret not doing the tt? I am torn because I called ins and the last told me plastic surgery or not they go by what is deemed as medically necassary for the patient because not everyone is alike. If you have any info it would be greatly appreciated

Most insurances seem to just cover the panni removal - ive seem some cover TT but rare. I have Kaiser and they will pay for Panni, and cover part of TT, but id still have to pay out of pocket even though I think a TT would/should be deemed medically necessary in my case, but they wont cover it under any cir****tances.

It sounds like you were thinking of a lower body lift that will include a TT, outer thighs, butt. I havent seen insurance cover that.

I have seen a few people on here get just the panni and be happy with it, but most people get the TT done because the results will definitely be better.

Like the other post, most PS is not covered. Some Dr's will do the panni and if you want the muscle tightening, you can pay the difference.  It would be a lot cheaper that way.

Hi neighbor! I don't think you will have much luck with Tenncare. I've had appointments with two surgeons and called others in Knox. I know there is one who's partner (less experienced) takes all the panni removal w/insurance but you will have to pay for extras and I really don't think tenncare will pay unless you have a history of uncureable rashes. Good luck!
