Anyone have Plastics before hitting Goal?

I am scheduled to have Plastic Surgery on Sept 6th. I am having a TT and Breast Lift, with silicone implants... i am only 10 months out from surgery and still 30lbs from my goal weight but I honestly can't take it anymore.. I am sick of the nasty stomach and saggy breasts. I am just thinking and thinking that it might not be exactly what I should be doing this early out b/c I still have 30lbs to lose. My bariatric surgeon doesn't want me to have plastics until I hit my 1 year mark but my Plastic Surgeon and I consulted with 2 of them. Both stated that they will be removing all of the loose skin and doing lipo of my hips, back, and thighs, so I will be super tight in that area so if i lose the last 30lbs i won't see much difference in my stomach area. I will just lose the weight in my arms, legs and face he said.

Does anyone else agree with these statements from experience about losing more weight after your surgery and not needing a revision later?

I have until Monday to decide if I want the full belt lipectomy or if I just want to go with the Tummy Tuck.. Any comments on this would be appreciated!

You have to do what's right for you, but my plastic surgeon says weight gain or loss of 15 lbs can affect the outcome.  I'm only 5 weeks out so not an expert.  Good luck!

I think you may end up with a little bit of loose skin if you lose more than 10-15 lbs post PS but depending on what your expecttations are, it shouldnt be too much of a problem. If you want a super flat tight stomach/body when all is said/done, dont do the PS until you hit your goal. If you can live with something less than the best posible results, proceed :)

I'm going to be doing PS about 15 lbs above my ideal goal weight, but Im like you - i cant live with the excess skin anymore.

I can tell you, I was 70lbs from goal when I had my first TT done.  I had it done because I had lost over 200 lbs and my excess panni skin was causing me severe lower back pain.  The back pain was relieved immediately.  And I went on to lose the 70lbs.  I would say at 30 lbs loss, my results has already suffered a lot.  My upper stomach sagged and the skin caused an indention down the middle of my tummy!  Of course, I returned for a revision after losing the last 70lbs and am extremely pleased now.  IF you can wait until you have lost that last 30 lbs, you will be much happier.  It will make a difference.

I totally understand being inpatient and wanting it now!   BUT...I think you would me MUCH happier in the long run if you are at goal...and you are so close! I do think the extra lbs losing after will alter your results.  I was at goal for 6 months before my TT.  I know that my surgeon will do surg on those that are not at goal but he was very happy that I was and that I would be happier with the results...and I am!
If I were you I would wait until you hit goal.  Make that your motivating factor to get there!
Also..I had wanted my boobs done too...but to be honest I didn't think mine were bad enough to justify the additional 11,000 to have them done.  (I live in California...everything costs more here)..so I decided not to and I am so glad that I didn't do it.  WIth a flat tummy...my boobs look so much better (of course I need a good bra).  I have had several people ask me if I got a boob job too...so I kind of feel like I got an additional bonus!

the best of luck to you whatever you decide...you need to follow your heart

My PS suggested that at minimum you should be 6 months in maintenance B4 plastics...ideally a year.  I will be 2.5 years at goal in maintenance when I have my surgery in Nov.

I know it is hard to wait, but I'd do it if you can...buy some good compression garments to get you through.

The difference between my skin at a year out and at two years out was incredible. I too didn't want to wait but in the end I did and boy am I happy that I did so! I regained a bunch of elasticity and it gave me a much better result. IMO, you should def. Wait till you are closer to goal. Your body has been through so much this year, that it really hasn't had a chance to recover. Good luck in whatever you decide and congrats on your loss!
