Thanks to everyone for all your input!  I am having a lbl and medial thigh lift on September 18Th at MGH with Dr Amy Colwell.  That will be my first surgery.  The second surgery will be a bl/ba and arm lift.  I hate the idea of the big incision down the thigh- mine will go to my knee, but my thighs are a mess.  I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
A couple of questions for those of you on the other side- barring complications, how long was your follow up post for lbl and or medial thigh lift?  I live full time in my RV and look forward to getting back on the road.  And I have seen a lot of good suggestions as to what I need to help post op, but for those of you who have had the lbl and tl at the same time, any special suggestions?  How long before you could shower?  I'm concerned about keeping the area clean.  Also how much improvement did you see to saddle bags?  That's what bothers me the most.  I know it takes a few months to see the final result and of course there will be some relaxation of the thigh but how good was the result?  The doc is going to do some lipo too, so I am hoping at least to smooth out the contours.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences!!

Hey Paula,
I am with you. I am having my lbl and medial thigh lift at CCH on 8/29 with Dr. Fater. I would love to follow your post. I am getting no lipo as he said he didn't want to compromise blood flow to the new incision.
Good luck.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery!!! I have a ps consult with a ps from Brigham & Women's hospital in Boston on Sept. 5th and I can't wait!!!  I need a LBL to get rid of the skin suit I'm wearing from the waist down after losing 175 lbs.  Can't wait to hear your results and experience.  Good luck!!

Congratulations on your impressive weight loss!  I saw my surgeon today and had all my ore-op testing done.  I'm really anxious to have the extra skin gone too!  My surgeon is great and I cannot wait to see the outcome. Let me know how you make out at B&W's.  That's another great hospital.
Good luck!
