Post Panni 5 weeks

I just wanted to say that I'm doing pretty good. 2nd week back at work.  Last drain came out at 3.5 weeks.  Incision is healing nicely.  My tummy is getting flatter and flatter but still swollen.  I'm wearing spanx during the day.  No more sleeping with them.  My PS told me I could stop wearing the spanx at 6 weeks post-op but for now, I think I feel better with them on,  So far I've lost about 15lbs since the day before surgery.  My waist is about 3 inches smaller.  Even though I had panni vs. abdominoplasty, I'm satisfied witht the results.   For the first time since having my Gastric Bypass 8 years ago, I actually see myself as small.

I am so glad to here this. I am hoping to have my panni done on Oct and have worried that I would wish I had gone for the full tummy tuck. So, you took 3 weeks off of work? I was hoping to only take 2. Would that have been doable for you at all? I have a desk job, but I will be running payrolls, etc, so I can't really be out of it on pain meds. Did you have an anchor cut?

Thanks for the info and glad everything has gone well for you.

HI Danae,

My surgeon would not let me go back to wor****il the drains were out.  I was off the pain meds pretty early on, so that was not an issue.  But even without the drains, I don't think I could have gone back to work.  I commute to NYC from NJ by public transportation.  Last week and this week, I have been driving in because I don't think I'm up to pubic transportation,.  Going to try that next week.

I was able to do some work from home  but mostly I just needed to rest.

I'm not sure what an anchor cut is.  I'm cut from hip to hip.  I have a new belly button and my tummy is pretty tight.

Best of luck.

Yeah, sounds like you are doing great. I had a panni before WLS and it shrunk with me after WLS (WLS was not in the picture when I had the panni). Continued good luck and way to go!!

Well obviously you are in worse shape than I was but 3 procedures at once . . .well that was very brave of you. I would love to do my arms but without insurance coverage it's not going to happen anytime in the forseeable future.

I'm sure by 1 week out, you will be doing better.  It's almost 6 weeks for me and I'm back to a somewhat normal routine.  I expected a more difficult recovery so I'm happy.

Take your pain meds, move around a little and rest.

Best of luck!
