I whole heartedly agree that's why I was posting a question on here. I know there quite a few that do travel for plastics after WLS.
I'm sorry the friend didn't state the drs name.

I have been to the DR.  I spent Christmas there while I was serving in Haiti while in college.  It has been a while, but the medical care is adequate.  Even though it shares the island with the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.  I suggest you have your friend, research not only the results of this ps's work, but also his safety measures.  Where does he do the surgery?  What plans are in place to contact him while she is there should an emergency arise?  Does he have set up for emergencies while in surgery or is it in an outpatient facility?  What is the aftercare like?  Saving money is good.  Having a good physical result is great, BUT being alive and healthy without residual problems is priority!  And it should be the surgeon's priority!  Please please please tell her that research of his safety plans and procedures is paramount to anything else!

I had mt sleeve done in DR and was very pleased with the whole thing.  I was going back to DR for plastics but they would only do 2procedures and I wanted 3 so they directed me to Miami.  I went thru  a company called Global Medical and very satisfied with them.
