Hi All :)

First: I would like to thank everyone in this community. Your posts and discussions have helped me a lot.

I am considering plastics; I need to have a total body lift, arms lift and thigh lift done. I have lost a total of 200lbs and I am 31 years young. I am considering having consultations with the following doctors:

J. Timothy Katzen

Siamak Agha

John LoMonaco

Joseph F. Capella

J. Peter Rubin

Sepehr Egrari

Dennis J. Hurwitz

Any thoughts about my list? What do you think of these doctors? Dr. Capella has pictures for over 100 cases of arms lifts; that’s impressive. I hope I can be scheduled for surgery sometimes in December or early January.

Thanks.

Dr. Capella was my surgeon.  He and his staff are wonderful.  I'll be 4 weeks out from lower body lift, arm lift, and breast lift.  I'm still swollen but very pleased with the results so far...especially the arms!

I am glad to know that you are so pleased with the results. I wish you the best of luck.

what made you choose him to perform your surgery? Are you out of town patient as well?
How is your incision line? Is it thin?

I always knew I was going to go with Dr. Capella.  1. His father along with Dr. Iannace did my RNY.  2.  I feel like he's the best in this area.   I'm in N/NJ so I'm local.

As of tuesday I'm 4 weeks out and waiting for the "pie crust" incision to flatten out. When it does I will be left with a very very thin scar.  He told me it would flatten at about 6 weeks and I can already see it happening.  He does the pie crust incision to prevent the scar from widening.

I'm going to see him next week. Your words are so encouraging; thank you :)

How are you healing? Did you feel you could back to work after a week or two from having the surgery?

Returning to work is really tough at one week post op. even if you have a job where you can sit with your feet up, you will be extremely tired, you may have drains still and it is best to allow your body to heal so you do not have complications.

12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.

I will be taking a month off. But I don't mind going back to work if I could.

And you are right; I totaly forgot about the drains.

Thank you "Iam_with_the_Band" :)

I really think it depends on the type of work.  If the job isn't overly physical than by 2 weeks no question.  But also realize you will get tired very easily for some time.  Like I said I'm 4 weeks out and I was running around taking my 3 kids to Dr. appts., grocery shoping, making dinner, you get the idea, and by the end of the day I was literally exhausted.

Good luck with your appt.  I think you will love him.  He's very kind and knowledgeable.  Also his staff are wonderful.

Ah yes, the famous Capella pie crust incisions!  I was so freaked out by mine, but dont worry.  They totally flatten down to nothing.  Mine are very thin.  THRILLED he does them that way!  Scott and Dr Joe are the awesome :)
