Hi!
I'm at my 4 week post-op mark now and will begin my excerise routine shortly.  I don't think I could do it earlier.  I'm actully still sore and in pain so doc said I can only do walking for now.  Full blown cardio and vigorous excerise has been cleared at 8 weeks.  I'm a little worried because I have a 60 mile walk coming up in October and I need to really train hard to last the 3 day journey!

I was also worried about weight gain, but it is very hard to tell because of all the fluid retention and how swollen your body is.  I lost a total of 8 lbs (had LBL, AL, BL) but I still can't button up my pants even though I have a flat belly (weird).  Doc said the tummy is one of the last areas that the swelling goes down in.  Everyday I see some improvement though.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks Alex,
I guess I'll just have to wait it out,. I will really have to watch what is going in my mouth and maybe cut down on calories a bit.
60 mile walk, wow, how long does that take?? Good luck and way to go!!

Mari,

The walk lasts 3 days....20 miles/day.It's gonna be tough, but I have 2 months to get my stamina up.  I was up to walking 10 miles in one shot.  Now after the surgery I get winded walking 1 mile!  :(  I guess I need to start from scratch again and work my way up...

I'm having a LBL and BL in Nov and this is the one thing that scares me the most.  I work out 5x a week and I love it.  But, I figure I've done it for four years, so a 8 week break will not break my routine....I'm determined to get back at it as soon as I'm cleared!
