Was it hard to get back into exercise after your PS? I go to the gym 3x a week and aerobics 5 x a week, now. And know it will drive me crazy to stop for a couple of weeks, but my question is, is it hard to get your mojo back???

For me it wasn't because I was so ready! I took 12 weeks off because I really wanted my body to heal properly with any complications or problems. I was so looking forward to returning it was not difficult!

Thanks, I was thinking that I would be excited too, but worried I would fall back into old, bad habits. What did you have done?

Wow, you must have been sore from top to bottom!! I bet you are loving the results! The one good thing, I feel, about doing a lot at once, you get it over with in one swoop!! Good for you!! My PS wants me to go back 6 months after this procedure and have the brachio (sp), she is doing the lipo first and wants them to heal, before hand. I'm hoping the lipo will be enough, LOL My arms are still huge with lots of fat, just didn't lose the weight in them. Also,  getting a mons lift and a tt.

My brachioplasty was done in 2009 with lipo for shaping. My results were excellent. I am very placed with my results. I believe my body looks and feels as it did in college.

Yeah, I was hoping to get both done at once, she showed me it wouldn't make much difference and would look better if I have it done separately.(If I didn't know her so well, I'd think she wanted extra money)  My arms are still a 2x when I'm in a M, born with big arms, sigh!! I'll post a before and after pic. I am feeling much more like my old self, too. Not quite there, but can see the light. You've done a fantastic job!!

I had a very hard time not exercising after surgery (I had LBL, BL/BA, brachioplasty, and thigh lift). I exercise 5x a week and use it for stress relief. I started with the treadmill at 4 weeks, very light weight at 5 weeks, and back to my old routine (less intensity, of course). Now, at 8 weeks out, I'm almost back to where I was before.

I know I started back too early, but, like you, I didn't want to get out of the habit and I really need exercise for my emotional health.

Oh, no, 4 weeks is TOO EARLY, I was thinking I could start in 2 or 3, I guess when I go to my pre-op appt next week, she will fill me in. Did anyone gain weight from not being able to exercise or was it just to hard to tell from all the fluids and swelling? It's good to know that you are almost back to normal at 8 weeks. I have to attend a reunion 6 weeks after mine, I guess I may be wearing my compression garment under my dress. LOL Thanks Eileen. Who knew that listing to tunes and exercising could be a stress relief, I'm with you on that!!

I hear you- it's been REALLY hard for me to be sedentary during my recovery. I am 4 weeks out from an extended tummy tuck and medial thigh lift and I am counting the days until I can resume exercise. I know I''ll have to wait at least 2 more weeks, but I'm trying to be patient. Like you, I relied on exercize for stress relief and peace of mind. I worked out 6 days per week, 90 minutes per day and I am also wondering how much ground I'll lose during my enforced haitus. Stay tuned. :)
