When to consider TT?
I've lost 110 lbs with about 70 more lbs to go to hit goal. And I'm trying to determine at what point I should have a TT. I'm sure realistically I should try to wait until I hit goal but I'm finding that the excess belly skin is giving me a lot of trouble during exercise. I do Zumba 3 days a week and then I workout either jogging/elliptical 2 other days. I get terrible rashes underneath and there's a lot of movement of the skin (and not in a good way) when I'm jogging.
So I'm thinking about seeing a surgeon sooner rather than later to get their opinion but I was just curious what the experiences here were.
Thanks.

You can have it done early, but for the best result you should be at goal for awhile. I had mine done and lost another 75lbs. I had to have a revision but I knew that going in. I had it done for mobility issues and chronic back pain.

Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
I had lost almost 270lbs. My doctor removed 19lbs. I had been living on Aleve and my pcp said I had to do something. I know the financial benefit was not there for doing it early since my insurance refuses to cover plastics, but the physical benefit was amazing.

Hi,
You may want to wait until you are closer to goal to start with surgery (and use compression garments during exercise in the meantime). But it might be beneficial to go to your primary care physician now to start documenting the rashes and any other medical problems that you are having as a result of the excess skin. Some insurance companies my cover some of the PS if you can document ongoing medical issues, particularly those that don't respond to other treatments.. It can't hurt to start the paper trail now, and it might save you money down the line.
Good luck!

Find better shapewear to use when you exercise. I like Wal Mart's "Sweet Nothings" capris to hold my legs in place. It would also help around your middle.
Try to wait, if you can, but as others have said, if the pain is too much and you want to get it sooner, just know you may have to get a revision.
Getting a consult now sounds like a good start.
