I have had alot of tests done and even exploritory surg to see if anything was not right so far no one has found anything.  I cant function or take care of kids.  I weighed less and was smaller before surg than now.

Anyone have anyof these probs or how long did it take for you not to swell.  I feel so lost I dont know what to do. my wls doc isthe one who did my tummy i dont know if I should see a plastic surg or what ann thought s or advice or experience that could help would b awesome.

thanks so much
Linda

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry about your experience. It is so inappropriate for a surgeon to do a procedure that was not discussed before hand. I am not quite sure what is wrong but with the symptoms you're having I would go to the emergency room and tell them what happened. Also, if I were you I would be suing that plastic surgeon for malpractice. If you don't mind me asking who was your surgeon?

I'd be getting 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions from PLASTIC SURGEONS, not bariatric surgeons who do plastics on the side, until someone figures out what is wrong. Good luck.

Hi, I see you are located not too far from me in Ohio. I have just had three consultations with plastic surgeons in the Cincinnati area that all have a great amount of experience with WLS patients. If you decide you would like to see a plastic surgeon and need any recommendations, just let me know.

I had went to a plastic surgion before I had my wls surg do my skin removal... the plastic surg I liked but they said my insurance wouldnt pay,, my weight loss surg said it wasnt a prob.  I had herd that some came to him just for the panelectamy so I thought ok.... now I wish i woulda just kept the 16in of skin and the problems.  I have gone to all kinds of doctors and no answers. Today I was thinkn and it just hit me maybe I should talk to a plastic srgion to see if they would know of something that coulda happened to cause my problems.  So ya if you think talken to a plastic surgion would b a smart thing i would gladly take the names.  Other docs tell me to go back and see my surgion... I am due for my reg ck and I dont even want to go see him for that....

thanks for you help

Honestly my first thoughts lean towards medical malpractice.

A procedure that you did not expect?  I find that appalling.

Personally, I would have not had any reconstructive procedures if I could not afford a Board certified plastic surgeon.

The fact that a plastic surgeon would not operate on you with insurance coverage but this surgeon did speaks to me of insurance fraud possibly as well.

Your whole description stinks to me.

I would see a board certified plastic surgeon with all of my records in hand or sent ahead of me and get their opinion.

I am sorry you are struggling.

Dr. Schumacher was my surgeon and he did a fantastic job, I have had absolutely no problems.  Have you been back to see him since you have been having these issues, I find it hard to believe that he wont do anything about it.  Also, he doesnt claim to be a plastic surgeon, but does removal of skin/ panniculectomy only.

Did Dr. Schumacher do the exploratory surgery also, after the panni?.....Sounds like you have an infection inside your body with all the horrible swelling.
