How long after PS did you wait to get back on the scale?

From the experiences of others who have posted, I guess we have to be patient and ride the ups and downs for a few months. But hey, anything that keeps us focused on clean eating is a good thing, right?!

Best for continued healing,

I got on the scale 2 weeks after surgery. He had removed 19lbs (TT and Arms) - I was massively swollen, my hands looked like baseballs! The scale reflected a loss of 23 lbs! I sent him an email and asked him to verify the weight he removed. He replied, 19! I was shocked!

Wow!! You must feel like a new woman!

As things settled and you fully healed, did that weight stay off our did your body adjust back up a bit as it healed?

I only waited a day, big mistake, but I knew I would be up. What I hadn't expected this time around was swelling. My abdomen this morning was 4 inches bigger around.

Thanks, Anne! The swings in size and swelling are incredible!

Do you mind telling how much you "gained" from the swelling? I'd love to know how much fluid I am dragging around. :)

Weight wise about 2 pounds

Inches wise, I gained 4 inches from swelling (my waist went from 27" to 31")

I did eventually lose the extra 4, but I
am one of the few who did not go down in size at all.

I was 143 the day of my plastics. I had 5 pounds removed. Immediately after surgery I was up to 149. After 2 weeks I was down to about 137. I will say my metabolism was in overdrive right after surgery. I think I was eating close to 3000 calories a day the first 2 months. Then BAM my metabolism went back to normal, dang it, and I had to cut back.

Thanks, Laura! It's helpful to get a couple of data points and hear how things changed over time. I'd Love a few months of super high metabolism --  fingers crossed that that'll be lucky enough to have that happen to me, now that I'm starting to get back to normal eating post-PS!
