PREGNANCY AFTER TUMMY TUCK???
I had RNY in 2004, I did well yes I have gained back some weight (I need to lose about 35lbs) but I was wondering.....
I really need to have a TT, the overlapping skin on my stomach is causing rashes, pain, and constant cuts and tearing of the skin in the crease.
I wanted to wait until I had another child becaus i didnt want to have 2 tummy tucks.
So my question is, has anyone gotten pregnant after having a TT, did it mess up the TT? With exercise were you able to get your flat stomach back?
Im planning on having another child in 2 or 3 years, but I'm ready to have a TT now because of the discomfort.
Any advice will be grateful!
Thanks

I wondered the same thing and made a post on here. My responses all said that a patient should wait to get the TT. Kids first, then surgery. When I went for my lbl consult, my doctor told me it may reverse some of the work but it shouldn't be that bad. So I thought about it and decided I won't have anymore kids so I would get it done. Well, the lbl did not remove everything especially above the belly button and I will still need additional abdominalplasty with a vertical incision to remove whats left. I will need to wait 6 months before they do another surgery. They should have just done it in the first place that way but they said that the lbl was a great place to start for me and then we would move from there if needed. So since I now need the additional surgery to obtain the results I should have, I am now considering having another child. And well since I don't have several thousands just laying around unused and I will not take another loan until the first is paid off, I'm thinking about it. Sounds like you are having serious problems though. I would consult a PS and see what they say. Since you are having skin issues, your insurance may pay for it. If you get pregnant after the TT and need a fix, the insurance may not pay for it again. Something to consider. Good luck on whatever decision you make.
I think it would be worth a PS consult to discuss your situation. I normally would think that you should have all of the kids you have before getting a TT...but if you are having so much discomfort now you might not want to wait. I would see what they say.
When I had my consult, he said that it was good that I was donw having kids (I have 3) ...but you might be a case where it is worth not waiting.
good luck to you
