Getting a revision, what to expect?
There is an area about a foot long she will redo and lower the incision to give some relief from the pressure it's creating right now. My ? here is has anybody had something similar done what was your down time to recovery and what other fees did you have to pay to get something similar fixed.
I do have pics in my profile, #12 would probably best show what I'm talking about if anyone is interested.
Thanks,
I can't speak exactly for your procedure but I imagine your "down time" will be about the same as it was for your first. Maybe more, maybe less. When I went for my 2 month follow up visit, they agreed that I need a revision on my left arm as they didn't take enough off. The surgical coordinator explained that the doctors fees would be waived and they would "ask" the hospital to waive their fees too. She said that they never had a problem with this so I should be able to get the revision done at no out of pocket expenses for me. But from what I've read on other peoples posts, they still paid the hospital fees regardless of what they where having done or the hospital. I went to a teaching hospital so maybe thats why its different for me. Although it may vary from hospital to hospital, you can probably expect to pay the anesthesia fees, recovery fees and your overnight stay. Check with your doctors office or hospital for more info on that.
On other note, I was told by my doctor that anytime you have an incision reopened, you take a higher risk for infection and longer heal time. Not only does my arm need revised but I'm looking at getting more abdominal work done with a vertical incision at the same time. Although its not a revision on my lbl, they would still reopened that bottom incision and cut around my belly button again. It was recommended that I increase protein intake, make sure I take all my vitamins and get into a regular exercise routine so I can be in the best shape for the surgery and lower my risk for infection. I have plenty of time as the surgery will probably be April or May of next year. I have to wait at least 6 months from my orginal surgery and I have to wait until my husband can get more time off from work which isn't until next year.
Good luck to you!
