I had my face/neck and a chin implant done in January of this year.  I used Traumeel arnica gel on the bruising and I swear it made a tremendous difference.  I was a little skeptical when I heard about it, and my surgeon does not want his patients to take arnica internally, so I tried the gel.  I had no bruising at all by day 8.  I rubbed it in 3x daily.

My doctor has me taking Arnica internally. I hope I get the same great results that you had with the gel. I may ask about also using the topical version too. Was the pain bad?

Strangely, the part of me that hurt worst were my ears.  They were tremendously swollen and sore.  The rest of me looked swollen and bruised but didn't really hurt.  I had Vicodin for pain and Ambien for sleep and used them for five days.  After that I was good.

I had an LBL, BL, arms and small thigh lift on Thur and a full neck and facelift on Mon.  The face was definitely worse than all the body work.  Soft earplugs to keep your ears off the scars behind the ears helped those that came after me.  One used tampons and they worked too.

While not harmful, the overwhelming body of literature on Arnica  is that it is no better then placebo for pain, swelling, or bruising.
