Mine was totally self pay.  I paid 13,100 for my surgery ...including everything.  My doc made me stay one night in the hospital.  (I live in california and everything is more here!)
It is a bummer about the insurance not paying...I didn't even look into it because I knew they wouldn't .  But alot of people do get it covered around here..maybe you can get some tips from them or there is financing available I think.

good luck to you.

Stu,

We are military and I have Tricare. I had no trouble getting them to cover the breast reduction/lift, but they denied the TT. I sent in a bunch more documentation and pics, plus a personal letter. Got approved after 2 weeks. I am so thankful! Tricare has become more strict and has not been covering plastics at all. Id try your insurance anyway. It can't hurt! I will be self pay for my arms and thighs. Not looking forward to that. Im going to use Carecredit, (the CC just for plastics) for any amount I dont have in my plastic surgery fund. Good luck to you! Glad you're doing your research!

STU: check and read carefully your HMO policy.
You do not want cosmetic surgery!
You want reconstructive surgery to return your body to a sense of normalcy!
Document with GP /skin doc any rashes fungi between folds of fat-usually under hanging belly. Pannileculectomy is often approved and some pay difference for a full TT . Some go to a teaching hospital and prices are reduced. Some go to Dr.Sauceda in Mecico.
Research, request and fight/appeal if needed. You deserve it!

Thank you Miss Patty for the honesty! It is true that we are all different and react differently to pain. Thanks for the tip about the stool softeners. I need to make a list! :)
