Surgery was on Monday! All went well! Pics!!
Hi All,
I had my LBL, BL, AL with Flankplasty, which takes care of the extra skin by the bra strap. Dr Capella was my surgeon and I think he did an amazing job. I will not sugar coat it. It has been one of the most painful surgeries I have had. I am 5 days post op and I still have not been able to ween myself off of the Percs. I had some trouble getting a hold of the Doc after the surgery because he only prescribed 1 perc every 3 hrs. Apparently his phone and modem went down and he was not able to get any calls. The hospital was even having trouble. Anyway, he finally checked in later that evening and uped my percs to 2 every 3 hrs and Viacadin if needed. The following recommendations were extremely helpful: chapstick, back scratcher, recliner, pillows. I have not used any of the following: plastic piece to help pee while standing (I think I would've used this if my period hadn't come a week early.) I also did not use the benedryl, paper strips, neosporin, bacitracin. It's funny how all docs have different after care instructions. Based on my docs after pics, I will follow his instructions because it seems to leave minimal scars. He told me to take everything off the day after I went home. Then I could shower. I had to make sure someone was with me because many ppl feel faint the first time they shower. My first shower was really a sponge bath and the next day I took a full blown shower and it felt great! Doc told me not to put anything back on. The swelling needed to go down on its own and binding up prevented the body from distributing it. So I have been feeling pretty good other than I haven't had a BM yet since surgery and I'm a little worried about that. Pain is still pretty high and I start to get shooting stabs 1 hr before I am due for my next dose. I am holding steady though. I am supposed to have 2 drains removed on Monday. Wish me luck! THANK YOU ALL!!!

So glad youbare after. Take your pain meds-so glad you do/did not wait for pain to build-up and contact your PS (whom I read great stuff about him)!
You bought the creams so keep them on hand as many have minor problems weeks later which I hope you won't need! Drink (maybe even invest in protein powder to help) and eat a high protein diet to help with healing.
It is amazing and interesting different PS opinions as to shower/binder but always best to follow your own PS.

Hi Mikimi
Yes Doc told me at the 2 to 3 week mark, certain areas can become problematic. Under the arm pit where both suture lines meet may begin to open and also above the butt crack area is also a spot that can begin to open. From the boards I have noticed that these are very common so just crossing my fingers that I don't have to deal with that. Keeping my creams handy! Also have been doubling up on my protein shakes :)
