Tummy Tuck this past Wednesday 7/11

Just want to say that I had my tummy tuck on Wednesday and I can't believe how good I feel.  I'm getting around my house pretty well.  My hubby has been great taking care of me and emptying the drains.

I really have no complaints except for not being able to shower.  I'm also itchy under the binder.  I go back to surgeon on Tuesday to hopefully have drain(s) removed.  I have 3 drains.

Have a good weekend

Congrats!  It is nice to hear it is going well for you! Keep us updated, I am still on the fence about surgery so I am happy to hear about when it goes well.

Even though you feel great, take it easy.  Rest, let your body heal.

Benedryl for the itching is what helped me.

Thanks Dani.   Question about benadryl.  Did you mean oral benadryl or a creme?  I'm taking percoset for pain although I've been able to cut down quite a bit.  Going about 6-7 hours between doses.  Did you use the benadryl while taking pain meds?

I took oral benadryl. However, I was only on the nacotic pain relever 1 day
after surgery. I took tylenol pm OTC after that at night for a couple of days.
But then just the benadryl.
I dont think you should mix percoset and the benadryl, you would need
to call your surgeon. I have never had percoset so I dont know anything
about it.
The benadryl cream I believe has a mineral oil base in it so do not put
directly on to your incision sites. Go maybe 1 to 1 1/2 inches away from
them. I think the mineral oil would weaken them.
My not taking a narcotic has nothing to do with you. This was my
experince and it was not typical. I was exrremly lucky to have the
recovery I did.
Everyone is different. Do not judge your healing by mine.

Good luck,
Dani

I take percoset without the tylenol (oxycodone) for pain in my back etc, and I take benedryl with it often.

Update - almost 1 week post-op.  Saw surgeon today.  Everything looks good.  However, still draining too much from 2 of the drains and all the drainage is still to red so none were removed.  If things look better by Thursday, they will pull  them.  Meanwhile they gave me another binder to wear.  It felt good to get it off, even if just for a few minutes.  Once the drains are removed, he told me I should switch to spanx.

He removed 4.5 lbs. from me.  Made a new belly button.  My gall bladder scar is now lower and even with some swelling, I have to say, my tummy is pretty flat.

Havent need pain meds since Sunday.  Taking benadryl periodically for itching.  And I'm getting around pretty well.

Glad to hear this, Ilene! I had anchor TT and medial thigh lift yesterday. In pain moving around but not bad when still. Hoping I'll be doing as well as you in a few days.

All the best for a speedy recovery!
