Is there a place were u can donate our extra skin to burned ppl. I Can't afford to get Plastic Surgery, But I'd love to DONATE it to ppl. who need it most.. Just thought i would ask if anyone has heard of a place.
While your intent is noble and honorable it is likely harder done than said. Our hide often times has had skin infections or has little if any elactisity left and that does not make it do desireable for grafting.
I asked my surgeon about donation and he said that it isn't possible. I had hoped to put it to some good use, but apparently there isn't much demand for stretched out skin from the formerly obese.
