Check out my photos. Scars are a thousand times better.

I am not even a month out and wearing tank tops and I even
wore a bikini at my sisters pool! I am thrilled with not having
extra skin on my arms and tummy.

Hello!  I had my arms done a year ago.  I had to pay out of pocket and I missed my planned 4th of July trip (lost money on it too) and I have scars from my elbows to the area below my arm pits, BUT it was all worth it.  I was going to be in my best friend's wedding last Sept and I just knew I wanted to for once not feel like I wasnt pretty enough.  Or have to be the only one with a scarf or sweater on.  I had a great little waist and small arms to go with it.  Plus, I've worked out with my trainer since then and my arms for the first time have definition.  There are times that I feel slightly bad about the scars, but at least it's not hanging skin.  So what if I have a scar.  I like what someone else said about it being a badge of honor.  I say go for it girl!!!!  You will love it when you are in your tank or swim suit or sun dress with no sweater or anything to cover up.

I hope to have my arms done in the near future and I would take a scar over flapping wings any day.  I waved at my neighbor this morning while out walking and looked down and my batwing was waving too!

How did you get insurance to pay for plastic surgery? I am having face&neck done, then lbl. Next year arm and boobs I hope. All out of pocket-yikes.

I had my arms done 6 wks ago. The scars are way better than the skin! By next summer they will be even less noticeable. I can fit in much smaller shirts and I look more proportionate than before. I also had a tummy tuck, no regrets there either, of course!

I am currently deciding when to have my arms done.  I will have no problem with any scars.  I hate my arms and can't wait to have them look normal.  I will wear the scars proudly, just as I do my scars for my tummy tuck and breast lift.  They are all part of me and my journey.  Good luck with your decision regarding surgery.

For all of you that have had arm and/or lbl surgery, don't the scars become almost invisible after two years?

babmabelle16,
scars are very unique for each individual.  I have seen some that are almost completely gone at 6 months.  my friend scars extremely well.  she had her tummy tuck and facelift with me last May and at 6 months her TT scar was only a "wrinkle" - it was virually invisible.  I had to look for it.  my scars are still very purple and unattractive.  my brachioplasty scars from Dec 2009 have faded a lot and I am pleased by that, but they are not invisible.  no guarantees on your scars.  my eyelid scars are invisible.

I too am of the mind set that scars are better than the ugly hanging slabs of skin! Let the flag wave on the flag pole and not on me!!

I'm having my arms done next week and while I definitely don't look forward to the scars, I dislike the flab even more. I'm not comfortable wearing anything sleeveless in public and even if I felt the same way due to the scars, at least my arms will fit into my clothes. I won't be worse off than I am now, always having to wear a cardigan.
