Did you just google it to find one or ask your doctor/friend?

Did you find the prices 1/2 of other quotes for surgery or maybe comparable to mexico prices?

Were you happy with your results, or were you willing to settle for less than ideal results given the price break you were getting?

Would you go back or save up and go to someone you knew would give you great results?

Thanks,
Bubba

I found Tampa General on a list of teaching hospitals that was posted here a few years ago.  I think I saw an updated list on this board pretty recently though.  The price was probably about half of other places, depending on what you wanted done.  I was happy with part of the results, but they took a lot of skin(17lbs.) off my stomach.  Was it perfect, no.   Now I wish I had gone back there, because I had brachioplasty and TT revision in April at a regular PS, and have had nothing but disaster.
Wishing you good luck with your journey!

Thank you, I think I found one here locally that does this, but trying to get an idea for budget for next year as to what I can borrow/pay. Next spring I should be able to really start looking around.

Thanks,

I sorta feel that I was just a lab rat to them.  My results were just horribly cruel and I now have a life of abject pain.    They just zapped wrapped all their oversights  in a symetrical sort of a way and so they say it was successful. Sewing practice for em and every one they do helps them meet a quota of doing something so they can say they've done so many of these or so many of those. They can try stuff and learn along the way what NOT to do in these places so they will be able to do the right things later and

charge a lot when they have their own practice.

- It was Recommended to me by a member of my support group. They had surgery there.
- Price was more than 60% less than the other two surgeons I went to. I later found out that one of the surgeons I had the consult with is an attending doctor at the teaching hospital. His practice oversees the program (they don't advertise this).

- I was very happy with the results. The only thing I wasn't happy about was they wouldn't do the LBL and the chest at the same time. They were concerned that I would be under anesthesia too long. They made me wait 6 months between procedures. In the long run it worked out.

Just to give you a comparison in cost. Both PS were around the same. They both wanted to do a Gynecamastia and a Tummy Tuck. The cost was $17K for one surgeon the other was $19k.

The teaching hospital charged me $5k for the LBL and $3k for the inferior pedicel breast reduction with lipo and excision of axillary and back roll.

The costs included: Pre Surgical Testing, OR Time, Anesthesia, Surgical fee and 3 Follow up visits.

BTW...the costs for the LBL included an over night stay in the hospital. That was an additional $500. They recommended it for pain management. I went home same day for the chest procedure.

I also liked the approach that the teaching hospital took. I needed more than just a Tummy Tuck and inferior pedical breast reduction allowed me to keep nipple sensitivity.

Mt. Sinai is a much bigger hospital.

I went to Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) in East Meadow.

Sound like from what they charge maybe they don't make alot of money on the deal just getting their time and expense back. I paid 8500 to date for TT & Gynecomastia but TT could have been better need upper and lower back done. As well as maybe another TT maybe a mini as they call it, as I've lost another 30lbs since after my surgery but I was too heavy going in that's my fault.

Hoping to lose enough weight by next spring won't need Lipo to reduce cost but we'll see.

Thanks

I went to Yale, based on 3 other people I knew who had tummy tucks.  The prices were reasonable and I felt very comfortable with their program.  I would never consider Mexico, even if I didn't live in New England, but that is my personal opinion.  I got great results in my tt, my arms are good but could be tighter, the same with my neck.  I got another quote for my face recently and he told me 9k to fix everything.  Probably not gonna happen unless I fall into a pile of money.

This my before pic and 6 years later.
