After TT question

Hello:

I am 3 months out after my TT. My question is...when I am standing up, my stomach is beautiful, flat and awesome looking. When I sit down, a little muffin top is there. It has panicked me, but my surgeon explained that everyone has a little skin when they sit down...he told me that if it was pulled any tighter, I wouldn't be able to stand up straight! Do others have this? I hope I am just being paranoid!

Thanks,

Sandy

I had my TT in April and have the same situation.  The lower half stays pretty flat but the top seems to have a lot of loose skin.  I could have had the anchor cut but didn't want a vertical line.  At first I thought it was swelling but now it just appears to be loose.  I guess there are some other non-surgical things you can do (Thermage, I think) but don't want the expense of it.  I guess if it gets really loose, they can retighten it.  I know my facelift is going to be have to be redraped because the skin became loose the first month after. I guess it depends on how loose it gets.  If you have to wear spanx forever, it would be worth having it redone.  Your surgeon will probably be able to tell you in a few months if it is "within normal range" or may need something else done.  Good luck..hope it gets better.

I had the full anchor cut and I still have the same thing, I have a little extra that spills over the top of my jeans. But ya know what? So do most other people, who haven't had WLS or plastics. It just means you're average ;)

Lizzy,

I'm deciding whether or not to get the anchor cut.  Two PS didn't suggest it . The third one said I could go either way, I was right on the edge as to should he or shouldn't he. He said the potential outcome it to have a little pouch above the belly button, since without the verticle cut he wouldn't pull from the sides.

I really don't want to have a verticle scar and since two other PS didn't mention it I'm leaning towards not having it.

Question for you: how has your scar healed and does it bother you.. PS I'm not one for wearing bikinis : )

I had it and I went back in 2011 and had the Anchor Cut TT revision done.  I previously had only the TT.  It made a huge difference, no more excess skin at all.

Mine is just like you describe!  Glad to hear that others have it too...so thanks for asking!  I can still feel the tightness of my tummy.  I had my surg in Jan.

I am 2 months out today and had the anchor cut and I to have excess when I sit, my surgeon said the only way to get rid of that is either diet and exersice or liposuction which I didnt have done with my TT. He also said if he would have taken more from that area I wouldnt be able to move very good.
