Silicone strips for arms?
Hi:
My surgeon wants me to start using silicone strips for arm healing. I have searched, and the only things I have found are bandaid size strips that I have to cut..and they are not staying on. Everything I see is so expensive, and if it not even staying on they are worthless. Can anyone tell me what/where you have used and if they worked? Thanks so much!

I'm not doing silicone strips since I couldn't find any research that proved they did anything and they are sooooo expensive. I did find a study that showed the effectiveness of using paper tape (3m micropore tape) along the incision line to take pressure off the incision line and prevent widening, and it also helps keep the scar flat.

I used the expensive and very difficult to use Silicone Strips BUT realized they were not really doing anything to improve my scars. I changed to the GENE cream they sell at Sam's Club and I used it twice a day - massaging it into my arm incisions. I think it made a big difference and the price was really inexpensive.
I have been told that it's the massaging and moisturizing that makes the difference.
