Your thoughts on time off for TT & Breast Lift/Implant?
Hi, I'm still a ways off until I start scheduling consults (1.5 years out, maintaining 135lb weight loss, yay!!!)
But I'm curious, those of you who had a duel procedure of a tummy tuck and breast lift/implant, how much time did you take off work? How much did your surgeon suggest? How much time do you wish you had taken off?
I'm looking for advice from people who have pretty active jobs. I work at Starbucks and am constantly moving, lifting, bending; carrying four gallons of milk at once, for example. I only took 3 weeks off for my rny and that was rough!
In hindsight, it wasn't enough time off and I was curious if these p.s. procedures had more recovery time/lifting restrictions.
Thanks for your thoughts!

I know some people here who have posted that they went back 2-3 weeks post-op. I am a teacher and had 7 weeks off due to summer vacation. I'm thankful I had an extended time-off to recover. I was exhausted until about the 3 month mark. I was very careful with my arm movements due to my breast lift. Reaching too far or too quickly hurt. Going to the bank drive-thru and reaching for the tube thingy was even tough for a while.

with your job you might think about family medical leave and get atleast
6 weeks off. Surgery takes a lot out of you. Talk to your surgeon and
see what they suggest. They are going to be your best opinion.
Also if you take off say 6 weeks and you feel great, than go back sooner.
You always have that option.
Good luck

Good questions! I am having surgeries in Aug and wondering about recovery. My rny was tough; took 5 wks off but didn't feel 100 percent for 3 months. I am having face work in one surgery then lbl 4 wks later. It will be next yr before arms and boobs get done. Question for you: how did you add that Wgt info to your signature(?) line?
I worked at Starbucks so I know exactly what your job entails. If you overdo it too soon with the breasts, you'll end up with hematomas, capsule formation, lateral movement, or a whole host of other issues. I did too much with my left arm about 3 weeks after my BL/BA and ended up with bleeding and scar tissue formation which shifted the entire implant into my armpit. I just had surgery to correct it this monday. Definitely err on the side of caution. At LEAST a month, 6 weeks if you can swing it.
