brow/lower face/neck lift - Day 7

Oh blessed relief - Dr. Leedy took the stitches out this morning!  I was itching like crazy, so it feels terrific having them out.  Everything is healing fine. We had a discussion about the next surgery - extended tummytuck, breast lift with bra line excision.  I want to do this in December, so he said I need to book it by August because his schedule fills up quickly for that time of year.  Also, since Ive continued to drop weight, we decided to add small implants to the lift.  I'm a D cup now, but after the lift he said I'd likely be a B at most and the small implants would give a better shape and could fill me out to a C.

I do have quite a bit of bruising, primarily neck/chin area.  Swelling of jaw and chin is still pretty bad, but improving daily.  I'm glad I saw right after surgery how tight that area looked, because right now with the swelling, it looks like I have a double chin again.  It is hard to the touch but not overly painful.  Swelling in the upper half of my face is pretty mild at this point.  Just a little puffy.  I tried to take pictures to post, but with the flash in the mirror, the pics didn't come out, but with no flash they were too dark, so I guess I'll have to wait until my husband comes home to take them.

I was getting cabin fever from being cooped up all week, so bruises, swelling, and all, I went out to White House Black Market and bought a new outfit and treated myself to lunch with a good book.  Now I feel exhausted.

Glad you are feeling better.  I understand the cabin fever.  I went out today and got my hair colored and cut and feel so much better.  I am tired now but it was a good day.  I feel if I had a breast lift my size would also drop to maybe a B, I am in a D cup now when I stuck everything in.  I am just not sure that I want breast implants those.  I am still thinking on those.

Chana.....glad to hear you are feeling better and your stiches are out! I was wondering with everything you had done.....was it considered one procedure.....like a face lift or several different ones?? I don't like my neck, a little bit of jowls, and lines in my forehead......so cost wise having those 3 parts done is it considered one procedure???

Thanks so much,
Kathy

Hi Kathy!  He itemized it as three procedures 1) endoscopic brow lift 2) lower face lift and 30 neck lift.  Of course, the cost of doing them together is less than seprately.  I don't know about the lower face lift and neck lift relative to each other, but I do know that adding on the brow lift was about an extra $3k.

Hi!

Am I understanding correctly that a week after surgery you felt and looked good enough to go out?

8/1 I am having eyelids, checks, and neck gone. 8/29 lbl!

Well, yes, but only for a short time.  Also, I didn't really care if people saw me bruised around the neck and jaw (which I definitely still was and am).  Don't know that I would have done it had I still had two black eyes.

Congrats on the upcoming surgeries!  I'm sure you'll look like a million dollars!

Rest for a week.  Light activity for the second week.  By the third week he said I should be able to return to running.
